Tips to Avoid Overeating and Weight Gain

Enjoying the Party While Sticking to Your Diet This video offers tips on how to avoid overeating at parties, especially holiday parties, and the weight gain that comes with it. With the holidays being just around the corner, I thought this would be useful to publish. Plus for me it’s always good to be reminded. I found the video pretty helpful, because even though some of the tips already knew, there were others that I found were good to be reminded of again. One of the suggestions that I found a be really beneficial, was the idea that you plan to eat before you go to the party, so you won’t be tempted by the various sweets, and other items that are usually being served. I know myself if I don’t eat light, or not all before going to party, there’s a chance I will overindulged. If you are trying to avoid overeating, these tips are great ways to start! Remember drinking, does add a lot of calories too, so carry a bottle of water with you or pick one up on the way to the party. That way you’ll have something refreshing in your hand, and most people won’t ask about since it is so commonplace things days. Plus, it will help you from over indulging on adult beverages. Take a look at the video, and if you know of other suggestions post them in the comment section below! A reminder, some of the links above may be Amazon Affiliate links, and I do make a small fee if you purchase something using them. However, you don’t pay more, but the fee does help me pay for the site. Thanks in advance for your purchase, and for bookmarking the link, and buying often!  Video courtesy of Sixpack Shortcuts

Video – At 50, Can I Build My Body?

Can I build my body when I am man of a more mature age? When I decided to start on this website, I did a bit of research, trying to decide what I was even going to write about. I know at 50 plus, I am struggling with my health a LOT these days, so I thought that maybe I would go in that direction. As I searched the internet, trying to drill down on what I was planning to write about, or maybe just even figure out what was on my mind, I stumbled on this video question by Lee Hayward. I don’t know who Lee Hayward is, perhaps I am supposed to, but I did like that he was taking a question from a guy just like me, and answering it honestly. Maybe a bit too much so for some! The question is pretty telling about why it’s so much more challenging at 50 plus to get to the gym, survive a workout, and see results. I guess that I knew these things, but maybe I just hadn’t thought them all the way through. He points out, that in your 50’s your body doesn’t react to the gym as it did in your twenties. Well, that is assuming if you even went to the gym in your twenties, which I know that I did not. No time, with all the partying, etc. I needed to do first. Anyway, watch the video, and let me know what you think. Does it apply to you too, has Lee figured it out?

How to Stick to a Nutrition Plan

How to Not Fall into the Diet Trap Knowing how to stick to a nutrition plan, especially for men over a certain age is a big challenge. Once you decide to make a change in your life, knowing what to eat, how much of it, and what NOT to eat, it’s a huge dilemma. Also, if you are like me, you are also challenged by not being able to eat like you used to. I know that right now I am very near the highest weight that I have ever weighed. I look in the mirror, and think to myself that I am not really eating that much differently than I did in my 20’s. Just this week I told my doctor during a routine physical, I don’t know why I continue to gain wight like I have been in the past four (4)  plus years? I know that I watch what I eat, very few processed foods, etc., yet I continue to gain weight. I don’t sit around very often eating bon bon’s, pizza, or go out to eat and eat a whole steak with a baked-potato with all the fixings. Yet, I am gaining weight like I have been eating all those things and more! What my doctor suggested is that as well as watching what I eat, I should also add exercise, even a little to my routine. I used to be very good at that, but with the demands of a career, it is very easy to get sidetracked. I find it very easy to say, “I will do it later”, and later never comes. Anyway, a bit of a rant on the topic of loosing weight, or rather not being able to lose it as easy as I once could. The video below got me
