Trader Joe's grocery stores pesto chicken wrap in a box

Trader Joe’s Pesto Chicken Wrap

My Review – Pesto chicken wrap with parmesan cheese, roasted red pepper & pesto vinaigrette. One of my favorites for lunch from my local store is Trader Joe’s pesto chicken wrap. It’s actually a treat for me to have this wrap, since it’s a bit more expensive than what I usually spend for my lunch. Not that it’s extremely pricey, it’s just that I don’t usually spend a lot for lunch. Maybe that’s just me. Recently the packaging has been changed for all the wraps and sandwiches at Trader Joe’s, going from a solid wrap with a cut in the middle to the current small box shown here. The new packaging actually does give you a better view of what the sandwich includes, and as you can see it’s a hearty wrap. Trader Joe’s pesto chicken wrap is a great sandwich for lunch and is very filling. The sandwich includes a hearty amount of chicken, crunchy vegetables, and an ample amount of pesto. Where will you find the wrap in your local store? In my store, they have now installed a separate location or case for their fresh salads, soups, and chilled sandwiches. As I have stated earlier, this is one of my favorite sandwiches or wraps from Trader Joe’s. Though, I will admit that I have several, and I keep finding new favorites every time they release a new one. Have you tried your local store’s wrap? Is it one of your favorites too, or do you have other favorites? Post your thoughts, or your favorites to try below. My July 4th Meal

Grilling Out for the Fourth On the 4th of July, most of us are off of work. I know some of us still have to go in, and some of us take the day to catch up on tasks around the house, but some of us actually are lucky enough to not have to work. Well, in my case it was only half a day, but that is better than none. My mother celebrates her Birthday on the Fourth of July, so usually we try to do something nice for her. My Father has not been as mobile as he once was these past months, so as a favor to her, and to him, we decided to just celebrate her Birthday by grilling out at their home. Now, I know what you are probably thinking, it’s not much of a Birthday for my Mom when she has to cook. She said this year, she would not have had it any other way. You can’t argue with Mom! We had a pretty hot day, so eating outside was not on the agenda, but otherwise the day was nice. Perfectly dry and sunny for grilling. My Father is a big fan of rib eye steaks, as am I, so that is what my Mother prepared. She has a marinade she makes of garlic, worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper, so they are always extra flavorful. Along with the steaks, we had potatoes with onions made on the grill, corn, and of course as no grill out would ever be complete without, baked beans. Our holiday was spent chatting while the steaks were cooking, then a leisurely dining scene inside enjoying one another’s company, and celebrating Mom’s big day, and the birth of our nation. Standing at My Monday Morning Crossroads…Again

Standing at My Monday Morning Crossroads… Again

It is a Monday morning, and like many of the recent Monday mornings of weeks, or rather months past, I am at a crossroads. It’s funny how that happens so often as I get older. I mean, be at a crossroads of sorts, where I feel like I need to make changes in my life, and will know how to do it! Like most men of my age, and one who has his own company, I spent most of my weekend playing catch-up. Actually I don’t think that is a task unique to the self-employed, because I remember my weekends being one of catching up on things, quite often when I was working for others. I guess in life, we are always working for others. So my weekend was spent like most, doing chores, and trying to get boxes checked on my list. Always the first question, “where was I to start”? No, like most of you, though I did get started, many of those tasks stay on the list, to be done another day. Another thing that seems to happen often to me, is that despite my best efforts, I find myself falling off of my healthy-eating binge. I guess you can’t really call it a binge per se, since I do eat somewhat healthy all the time. Well, I mean, better food for you since it’s very little processed, or filled with sodium. I hear those are two big no no’s for any diet. What I am really speaking of when I say that I fell off my diet, is that I started eating my healthy food. Yet, I ate a LOT of it. Everything tasted good, and when I meant to have a stick of cheese, I had three. When I was to have one serving of

Tips to Avoid Overeating and Weight Gain

Enjoying the Party While Sticking to Your Diet This video offers tips on how to avoid overeating at parties, especially holiday parties, and the weight gain that comes with it. With the holidays being just around the corner, I thought this would be useful to publish. Plus for me it’s always good to be reminded. I found the video pretty helpful, because even though some of the tips already knew, there were others that I found were good to be reminded of again. One of the suggestions that I found a be really beneficial, was the idea that you plan to eat before you go to the party, so you won’t be tempted by the various sweets, and other items that are usually being served. I know myself if I don’t eat light, or not all before going to party, there’s a chance I will overindulged. If you are trying to avoid overeating, these tips are great ways to start! Remember drinking, does add a lot of calories too, so carry a bottle of water with you or pick one up on the way to the party. That way you’ll have something refreshing in your hand, and most people won’t ask about since it is so commonplace things days. Plus, it will help you from over indulging on adult beverages. Take a look at the video, and if you know of other suggestions post them in the comment section below!
